My personal views regarding the steps to be taken for improvement in Quality of Education and training for service sector to provide better service and to improve the employment opportunities for rural areas and semi-urban areas.
The necessity of best quality of education is required since “The future of the nation is built in a classroom”. Therefore the education should be provided with best quality and with proper direction in specialized sector and service sector so as to make the people engaged and earn their livelihood with respect.
According to me some of the following steps are required for improving the quality of education and training under the circumstances of globalization and quality requirement in service and employment:-
- Quality of Education:- Irrespective of the status and financial position of the student, the education should be provided without discrimination. The high quality of education is required since they have to face competition and pressure from any part of the world after completing their education and entering into employment or service sector.
- Examination:- The examination should be conducted in uniform basis in all over the institutions and results should be based on the performance of the students in examinations but not with any discrimination. Here the education institutions should be trained and developed in such a way that they provide best quality of education.
- Training:- Education should also accompanied by the training facilities so as to make the students settled in some areas of service immediately after completing their education, where they can provide best quality of service and make them economically6 strong and become self-respect.
- Guidance:- Every student requires proper guidance from the beginning just like foundation fro building. The guidance should be in such a way that is to be acceptable to the society and human kind. The importance for recognizing the respect of other human beings should be considered by giving the required guidance to the students.
- Career Development:- Every student will have interest in some other activity or service and he should be encouraged to join or to take up the same subject without forcing them to take up the area where they are not interested so that their interest, education, training and guidance will make the student more stronger and powerful with the best quality of service in their employment in their area of interest.
- Employment:- The students who are not much interested in education and interested in some vocation or semi-professional activities, they may trained in some vacation or semi-professional activities, they may be trained in that particular area of service so that they can help the professionals to reach the best targets and by helping the people at ground level who does not have sufficient knowledge in that particular area of service while acting as bridge between ground reality and highly qualified professionals.
- Quality in Service:- Quality in Service comes from best quality of education and training provided to a particular student. Unless the student is having the best quality of knowledge he cannot provide the best quality of service and he cannot take upon any new opportunity by accepting a challenge.
- Opportunities:- At present majority of the students are under the opinion that they does not have sufficient number of employment opportunities even though they have got good quality of education. But the realty is, the people are not equipped with the best quality of service which required or expected. The reason being they are not proper trained while they are students and not properly examined before the joining in service or employment. Under such circumstances it is advisable to separate the students who are willing to join in employment or semi-professionals from those who wants to continue their education for longer period. Such separated students can be provided with training to look after their semi-professionals job more effectively after the stage of basic education in which they can learn something practically.
- Relationship between Education and Employment:- At present our human resources are so mis-utilised that there is no relationship between the education they have obtained and employment they are undertaking. It is most urgent necessity to utilize the services of the people who have got education in that particular area and having sufficient training before giving them employment opportunities. The student who has got knowledge from the boyhood in a particular area, service can provide better quality of service in employment, of course there may be exception who are better than the people who has got basic knowledge from the beginning.
- Cost of Education:- The amount spent by the administration should be given second priority and quality of education and the guidance in character building should be given top priority. In other words the character building of a student, the quality of education should be given more importance and priority than the amount spent. Also more amount should be spent on providing a good and dedicated faculty rather than providing building with the good facilities. The dedicated faculty can teach and guide the student under any circumstances irrespective of the facilities available to him.
- Place of availability:- The educational institution should be situated at a place where the number of students available should be optimum so that not more or not less. If more numbers of students are there, there may be indiscipline there may not be control in the hands of the faculty. Also if there are less number of students the man-hours of the faculty will go waste or result into less productivity. Hence the educational institution should be situated at a place where there is a optimum number of people of above 5000 or more.
For the reasons and suggestions above said, I feel suitable steps may be taken to improve the quality of education and training so as to see that the students are engaged after education in some sector or semi-professional sector where there is a lot of scope of employment, it should not be considered to them a permanent Govt. employment only. Importance for unorganized sector working on the contract basis by improving their quality is also important. The employees can have more economic development and opportunities in their service by facing challenges overtime they can reach very big heights.
